STEP INTO MY OFFICE...
With the beginning of a hopeful new year and home working likely to be a long-term cultural shift all over the world, it feels like a good time to get more intentional and creative with our home work spaces. With most of our team now largely working from home both in the UK and in Kenya, we’re having discussions about what rituals, adaptations or small purchases are helping us work better and work happier.

FESTIVE NESTING
Please Vote for The Basket Room!
We were totally bowled over recently to learn that we have been nominated for the Passion & Purpose Award in The Independent Awards 2020, hosted by Holly & Co and Not On The High Street founder and UK Ambassador to Creative Small Businesses, Holly Tucker MBE.
The Independent Awards 2020 have been created to showcase and recognise the very best creative small businesses across the UK. The Basket Room is in very esteemed company and will be competing with 19 other INCREDIBLE independent businesses for the cash prize of £10,000. Voting closes on 3rd December when finalists will be selected from each category via a combination of the public vote and expert judges. Our category is being judged by Sir Tim Smit KBE, founder of The Eden Project, and Edward Perry, co-founder of COOK.
Weave Some JOY This Christmas
NEVER have we been quite so excited to launch Christmas as we have been this year! With doubts around the ways we’ll be able to celebrate this year it’s natural that so many of us are keen to put more time and thought into the way we gift. If we can’t be together, we want the Christmas presents we give to convey some of those big feelings that we can’t express in person: warmth, gratitude, admiration and LOVE.

SIX YEARS ON… AND STILL DREAMING OF BASKETS!
… And just like that, another year has passed by and we celebrated our sixth birthday last week. It’s been another big year for The Basket Room and it’s about to get bigger as Holly goes on maternity leave next week and prepares for the arrival of her first child.
Read on to find out about some very exciting upcoming basket collaborations, and to meet some of the new members of the team both here in the UK and over in Kenya.
COSY TIME

Winter hibernation takes on a new kind of meaning this year, so as we start to naturally spend more time indoors as the seasons change, we’re also looking for ways to make the home a comforting as well as a comfortable space.
BLOCK PARTY!

It’s a trend that’s been seen on the catwalks for some time already, but this big and bold approach to colour pairings is also making waves in the world of interiors. Colour blocking is a wonderfully simple way to freshen up your living space, and often it won’t require any new purchases as it’s more about placements and combinations of colour.
BOTANICAL BOHO – BRING THE OUTDOORS IN

MEET THE LAST LOOM WEAVER IN KENYA
With two beautiful new sisal rug designs fresh in for 2020, we thought it was about time that we introduced you to the supremely talented and hardworking man behind every single rug and runner that we sell at The Basket Room. His story is so important to hear and know that we shot a short film about him and his most extraordinary craft on a recent trip to Kenya.

MIAMI STATE OF MIND
We’re delighted to introduce the Miami New Neutrals edit for S/S 2020: all cool hues, jolly motifs and delicious colour pairings. These brand-new basket bags and baskets for the home evoke the warmth of Miami sunsets and the playful, ice cream tones of a beach-side boulevard in the springtime.
