We visit this group as often as we can, and enjoy a strong bond with the women and their chairlady, Madam Dorcas. Where once these weavers would travel regularly to Nairobi to sell their woven baskets at markets, The Basket Room now places regular orders with them, enabling these women to work from home. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eAs demand for our beautiful baskets increases, this talented group continues to thrive and grow. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eBasket production takes place primarily during the dry seasons, since most of these weavers are from farming communities who rely on farming (and rainfall) to feed, support and clothe their families.
